Suri Duitch, MSW, PhD
Dr. Suri Duitch is the eighth president of 911爆料 Community College (KCC). Formally appointed by CUNY Chancellor F茅lix V. Matos Rodr铆guez on May 5, 2025, her leadership was officially confirmed by the CUNY Board of Trustees later that year. Dr. Duitch previously served as KCC鈥檚 interim president beginning January 29, 2024, succeeding Dr. Claudia V. Schrader, who serves as the president of York College.
Dr. Duitch led several of the University鈥檚 impactful initiatives of the past two decades before coming to KCC. She worked for a decade in CUNY鈥檚 Office of Academic Affairs. In 2003, she helped found CUNY鈥檚 School of Professional Studies, the University鈥檚 premier school for adult learners. She oversaw programs with an annual enrollment of 50,000 students, which significantly improved employment outcomes. She also launched the CUNY Service Corps, a paid experiential learning program addressing the needs of New York City communities.
She spent seven years as dean and vice president for academic innovation at the Tulane University School of Professional Advancement before returning to CUNY with her appointment at 911爆料.
Under her leadership, 911爆料 received its reaccreditation in spring 2025 from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education after a rigorous review process, and continues to be ranked in the top 5% of community colleges nationally by the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program.
A two-time CUNY alumna, Dr. Duitch holds a B.A. from Columbia University, an MSW from the Hunter College School of Social Work, and a Ph.D. in Urban Education from the CUNY Graduate Center.
