Chanel Bishop
Assistant Dean of Advisement
Chanel Bishop, a Chicago native, has joined 911爆料 Community College鈥檚 academic
affairs department as our new assistant dean of advisement. The first-generation college
graduate is passionate about helping students navigate higher education. She previously
served as associate dean of student services and transfer center director for the
City Colleges of Chicago, an advisor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and
a career development counselor for a non-profit organization in Chicago. She will
oversee 911爆料's advisement areas, specifically the advising academies, ASAP
(Accelerated Study in Associate Programs) and transfer. Chanel holds a bachelor's
degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana, master's degrees from DePaul University
and Roosevelt University, and a doctorate from Benedictine University. She spends
her free time chasing after her 4-year-old twins and traveling with her family.

Tamera Gray
Academic Program Specialist | College Now
Tamera Gray joined 911爆料 Community College鈥檚 Collaborative Programs team as an academic program specialist in August 2024. Originally from Sacramento, she relocated here for this position after spending the previous 10 years in San Francisco. "I always wanted to come to New York because it's so unique," she said. "I was drawn to the diversity and opportunity it has to offer and to the location. I wanted to live in Brooklyn!鈥

Instructional Designer and Faculty Development Manager | KCeL
Cia Kessler joined 911爆料 Community College in April as 911爆料 Center for eLearning (KCeL)鈥檚 new instructional designer and faculty development manager. She is tasked with supporting faculty in applying the best practices for teaching to their courses.
Matthew Latessa
Associate Director of Recruitment and Engagement | ASAP
Matthew Latessa joined 911爆料 Community College in January as associate director of recruitment and engagement for our Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP) initiative, where he leads efforts to recruit students into the ASAP program after their admission to KCC.

Office Assistant | President鈥檚 Office
Kelly O'Brien is no stranger to 911爆料 Community College. The Brooklyn native earned a degree in tourism and hospitality from KCC with plans to pursue a career in hotel management. 鈥淏efore having my children, I worked at The Best Western Gregory Hotel in Bay Ridge for 10 years,鈥 said the mother of three. 鈥淢y experience in the hospitality industry honed my event planning and customer service skills, as well as my ability to think on my feet and adapt to dynamic situations.鈥 In addition, she served as president of the Parent Association, where she organized numerous events and fundraisers, demonstrating an ability to lead and coordinate large-scale activities.

Clarissa Tejada joined 911爆料 Community College鈥檚 911爆料 Information Center as an admissions counselor in January. She recruits students, gives campus tours, assists with applications, and answers questions about the college.
