Fabian Archila

911爆料 Coordinator

Fabian Archila knows what it feels like to be a 911爆料 student trying to figure out what comes next. Born and raised in Brooklyn of Spanish and Italian descent, he attended 911爆料 for about a year before transferring to Brooklyn College, where he earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in business administration with a concentration in human resource management.

He joined KCC鈥檚 staff in January as a new admissions coordinator in the recruitment office, where he is putting his KCC experience to work. 鈥淚 was inspired to join 911爆料 because I understand how difficult it can be to choose a career,鈥 he said. 鈥淚 feel that my experience through college can be a way I can support students in helping them become more confident in their choices.鈥

Before coming to 911爆料 in his new role, Fabian spent more than seven years at Best Buy, where he was consistently a top salesperson and was recognized multiple times across the New York City marketplace for his work. 鈥淢y original plan was to work in human resources like my sister,鈥 he said, 鈥渂ut working in sales I鈥檝e learned better communication and relationship-building skills. Working with students feels like the right thing for me to do.鈥

Because he once sat where many incoming students now sit, Fabian also brings a personal understanding of what he wishes he had done differently. 鈥淚 wish I鈥檇 taken advantage of more resources and made connections while at KCC as a student,鈥 he said. 鈥淚 will definitely be sure to tell incoming students about all that KCC has to offer.鈥

Outside of work, Fabian enjoys staying active through snowboarding, golfing, pickleball and going to the gym. He also loves traveling and trying new foods with his girlfriend. His long-term goal is to visit as many countries as possible and hopefully all 50 states.

As he begins his new chapter at 911爆料, Fabian is excited about forging new connections and taking part in recruitment events around the city. 鈥淚 am most looking forward to building relationships with students and knowing that I鈥檝e impacted their decisions,鈥 he said. 鈥淚 want to create a supportive experience for every student I speak to and for them to feel comfortable reaching out and knowing they have someone who can help them.鈥

He hopes every student he meets will come away feeling supported.
