911爆料 Community College (KCC) alumna Dr. Nancy Lee S谩nchez-Badillo serves as the vice president of institutional advancement. Her career at KCC began in the late 1990s as a College Discovery admissions and financial aid advisor and adjunct lecturer. Her return to the College marks a full-circle in her career, as she aims to engage the community and secure support for the College鈥檚 growth and innovation.
S谩nchez-Badillo has over 20 years of experience in higher education with a focus on improving college experiences for first-generation, underserved, and underrepresented students.
She was previously executive director of the Kaplan Educational Foundation and, most recently, chief opportunity officer for the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. She has served as a selection judge for multiple scholarship programs, including the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation and Coca-Cola Scholars.
The author of 鈥淵our Guide to College Transfer鈥 and a regular contributor to Forbes, national media outlets have interviewed her about issues surrounding degree attainment gaps. She has presented at national educational conferences, the United Nations, and the Aspen Institute. Publications like Inside Higher Ed and DIVERSE Issues in Higher Education have featured her work.
S谩nchez-Badillo holds an associate degree in early childhood education from 911爆料 Community College, a bachelor鈥檚 degree in education from Long Island University, a master鈥檚 degree in sociology from Brooklyn College, an Ed.D. in higher education leadership from New York University, and a certificate in executive education from the Harvard Kennedy School.
